Overview

In Social Contract you play as an unnamed bounty hunter tasked with taking out large company CEO's and general nuisances to the governments schemes in a hyper aggressive, quick kill quick death world where one mistake spells the end of you. Too much money? You get a target on your head. Feeding the poor? You get a target on your head.

Sneak around the levels or go loud and proud, biologically augment yourself into oblivion and walk through bullets like a cloud of smoke, or change those augmentations out to be virtually invisible, it doesn't matter as long as you take out your target and keep the target off your head by keeping civilians out of harms way. Talk to NPC's littered around the map for information on your targets whereabouts, how to find them, and maybe even other secrets hidden withing each mission. The possibilities are endless.

Gameplay

Use different weapons found throughout the levels, and exit with those weapons to use them in future missions, or previous missions and beat your time by finding new entrances and hidden routes that benefit your current loadout.

Talk to NPC's to find your targets location, and be careful not to kill them. It will affect your payout. Don't worry about the guards, though, their deaths will net you some cash.

Upgrade your character by buying implants, ranging from dirt cheap to only the 1% and use them to biologically augment your character to get the job done just that much easier.

Be careful, however, as most of the time being shot means being killed, and being killed means restarting, without unlocking any weapons you pick up. But, as quickly as you may be killed, so too may you kill the guards dotted around the levels. So always try to get the jump on them, or sneak around the level and don't be spotted. The choice is yours.

Sell items and trinkets you find on an ever changing market, where your reputation with different companies directly affects the prices you sell, or buy for. Killed the CEO of a company? Don't expect them to sell cheap unless you make up for it by killing their competitors.

Perhaps even find some hidden levels, accessable by exploring other levels. You never know how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Requirements

As this is a PSX / PS1 style game, it's not too resource heavy, but some larger levels could take a toll on lower end CPU's due to large numbers of NPC's. There is however entity culling, to try and prevent this.

Donations

Although not required, donations heavily help the development of both Social Contract and Veil of the Eclipse, and any future projects, so if you'd like to support us, please feel free. We're an indie studio after all, and even a few dollars helps us achieve our goal of making our challenging and deeply storied games. Thank you for reading!
